Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup and Drive to Mgahinga National Park
Your safari begins with pick-up from Entebbe or Kampala by your professional safari guide before starting your scenic drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in southwestern Uganda. Along the journey, enjoy beautiful countryside views, rolling hills, local villages, tea plantations, and a stop at the Uganda Equator for photography and refreshments before arriving at the lodge near the park in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Mgahinga National Park
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your mountain gorilla trekking adventure in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, hike through the forested slopes of the Virunga Mountains in search of a habituated gorilla family and spend one unforgettable hour observing these endangered primates in their natural habitat while enjoying incredible photography opportunities and scenic mountain views.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking Experience
After breakfast, return to the park for an exciting golden monkey trekking experience in the bamboo forests of Mgahinga. Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi Boat Excursion
After breakfast, transfer to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most scenic lakes surrounded by terraced hills and numerous islands. Enjoy a relaxing boat excursion across the lake while learning about the local communities and history of the islands. Day 5: Transfer Back to Entebbe International Airport
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Entebbe International Airport with scenic stopovers along the way.
