Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up & Transfer to Bwindi
Upon arrival in Uganda, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside with views of rolling hills, tea plantations, local villages, and scenic landscapes before arriving at the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Culture
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your unforgettable mountain gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Trek through the rainforest with experienced ranger guides in search of a habituated gorilla family and spend one magical hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, enjoy the Batwa cultural experience where you will learn about the traditions, music, dances, and forest survival skills of the indigenous Batwa community.
Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Entebbe with scenic stopovers along the way. Enjoy views of Uganda’s countryside and optional stops at the Equator for photography and souvenir shopping before arriving in Entebbe for overnight stay or preparation for your flight to Kenya.
Day 4: Fly to Kenya & Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, take your flight to Nairobi where you will be welcomed and transferred to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley and Kenya’s beautiful landscapes before arriving at your safari lodge or camp in Maasai Mara for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: All Day Safari in Maasai Mara
Spend the entire day exploring Maasai Mara National Reserve on extensive game drives across the vast savannah plains. Expect to encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and many other wildlife species. Depending on the season, you may also witness the spectacular Great Migration, one of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles.
Day 6: Second Day in Maasai Mara
Enjoy another exciting day in Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives offering more opportunities to spot the Big Five and other wildlife species. You may also choose optional cultural visits to Maasai villages or hot air balloon safaris for breathtaking aerial views of the reserve and wildlife below.
Day 7: Transfer to Nairobi and Departure
After breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive as you exit Maasai Mara before transferring back to Nairobi. Depending on your flight schedule, you may enjoy optional city activities before being dropped off at the airport for your departure flight marking the end of your unforgettable Uganda and Kenya safari adventure.
